Quartz is considered to be one of the most used materials for worktops. Quartz worktops are fabricated from 90% natural granite, one of the hardest elements found on earth. The rest is composed of resins, polymers and various types of pigments. This creates a very durable artificial rock without pores or cracks.
As a manufactured product, quartz countertops are guaranteed in their durability. They are designed to withstand physical damages like scratches and, repel most stains. These products are also beloved for their beauty. They are available in a wide assortment of different colours and patterns, so they really can be suited to any style.
At S T Stone Works Ltd, we're proud to bring you a wide variety of quartz to choose from. Contact our team today to learn more about our collection or to request a quote. We serve commercial and domestic clients across the counties of Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and London, including the areas of Ipswich, Cambridge, Colchester, Chelmsford, Sudbury, and Bury St Edmunds.
When it comes time to decide which worktop best fits your needs and style, you can’t go wrong with Quartz. With its high durability, and various designs & colours to choose from, it's no wonder this is a popular product choice for many commercial and domestic clients. While a quartz worktop is designated as a hard-wearing stone, it isn't impervious to accumulations of dust, stains, and minor scratches.
At ST Stone Works Ltd, we’ve combined a few tips for cleaning and caring for your Quartz worktops, so that you can look after your investment and enjoy it for a long time. For basic care, it’s recommended to clean your worktop daily to remove any food particles or water that may have accumulated throughout the day.
We advise using warm water and a few drops of surface cleaner (no strong chemicals), while using a soft cloth or microfiber towel to thoroughly clean and dry the worktop. Over time, dirt, grease and other particles can be built up, forcing the need for a tougher degreasing product. Again, stay away from abrasive cleansers and scouring pads to keep your surface shiny and sealed.
Other “What To Dos”
Limit long exposures of heat on the worktop surface, as the resin can melt and even crack at temperatures of over 200 °C. Using a pot holder or other rubber protectors for resting hot pans on are recommended.
Use a cutting board when preparing a meal, knives can form small scratches on the surface of your worktop.
Clean spills almost immediately, especially from sources such as wine, orange juice, or other acidic drinks.
